Joy is a young second generation woman who is passionate about dance. Invited by a friend to collaborate at "Ex Moi" (a complex of buildings occupied by refugees and immigrants), she finds herself having to face up to her own identity, her African roots and the expecations she feels she has to live up to after meeting these young people from sub-Saharan Africa. The story investigates the emotions of a girl whose skin colour threatens to interfere with the perception she has of the world and that the world has of her.
